Chris is 30, subbing, marathon and life

Okay I haven't written in a long time, too long. I have been subbing a good amount which means early mornings and trying to dress a little more grown-up. The second thing has been a little more difficult, one day I will grow up...maybe.

Besides subbing, Chris turned 30! I surprised him with a little party. It was super fun and he had no clue. It was very hard keeping my mouth shut but I am proud to say I did.

A friend took more photos than I did so when I get them I will post more.

Okay so I've also started training for a marathon. My sister-in-law, Tara, planted the idea in my head and now we are in training. Yesterday, I ran 7 miles. I seriously think I have lost it! Being up in the states again has been difficult for me so I think running will be good. We are doing a half marathon the end of March and the full thing the end of May...what am I doing!!!

Next, my sewing...I have been sewing just not as much. I made placemats, napkins and an apron for my soon to be sister-in-law Sarah's bridal shower.

Also a diaper cake and hooter hider (forgot to take a picture of this one) for another sister-in-law, Amy's baby shower.

So needless to say I have been a little busy. Today is a new day. I plan to cook, clean, drink coffee and sew today.

I love garage sales and thrift stores!

Okay I think everyone knows my love for both of these but last weekend it was confirmed even more. Here is what I found:

Beautiful fabric!
Since moving back to Paso Chris and I have been spending our Saturday mornings going to garage sales to furnish our home and find cool stuff. He is actually the one that goes online to find out where they are and drags me out of bed to go. So when I found all this fabric I was happy I got up. Now I have to decide what to make out of it!

Time for a break

Now that Christmas is over I am taking a little break. We are up in Tahoe till New Years with some friends and I didn't bring the sewing machine. The crochet hook and plastic bags did come up with me though. Thanks to all that bought homemade gifts from me this holiday season. Since I haven't posted since the 14th here are somethings I have been up to:

Coffee Sleeves galore...here are 3 of my favorites!

Placemat and Napkin set

Shoulder Bag

Along with the sewing I also did some family portraits for some friends:

The Cody Family

The Indie Family

And our family...with a tripod and self timer we captured this shot:

For Christmas day we went down to see our kids at Door of Faith Orphanage. It was amazing to see them all. We miss them sooo much.

Hope all had a great Christmas and a peaceful new year to come!
