Recovery

The Tuesday after the wedding, March 24th, I had surgery, an abdominal myomectomy...a what?? The easiest way to put it is I had a C-section to remove a large fibroid out of my uterus. The surgery was successful, they removed the fibroid that turned out to be larger than showed in the ultrasounds. I had to stay 2 nights. Some people who came to see me got to witness me upchucking a jumba juice (the only thing that sounded good for two days). I knew going into this that recovery was going to a bitch and let me tell you it is!

Here are some things that recovery includes:
Pillow goes between you and the seat belt in the car...car rides are not fun!
Wearing huge undies because your swollen and don't want anything touching your incision
Walking slower than a snail
The trip the bathroom with be the highlight of your day
However when you get to the bathroom and sit down you can't get up once you are done
Low-rise pants are the devil or anything that sits below the belly button
Can't reach up to wash your hair very well so a messy bun is the best option to hide the oily hair
The TV and you become best friends
No working out or working for 8 weeks (which is great for the first 2 weeks)
Hormones are out of control....they are screaming what did you just do!!!
Constipation is a way of life because of the drugs they put you on.

Now, 6 weeks later, I have been cleared to start taking walks. I am an active person and this part has been hard. To be honest, I haven't felt like doing a lot but I am tired of sitting on the couch and hanging out with my TV. Thankfully, my sister-in-law, Tara has moved back to the area so I have had someone to hang out with during the day.

So now I am up to date (pretty much!)

Another baby and a wedding!

So after having that amazing week down south life got a little crazy. I am now, a month later, starting to get back on track.

On March 21st at 2:15 am Chris' brother, Bryce, and wife, Amy (there are two of us) welcomed a 9 pound 8 ounce little boy into this world. We made it to the hospital right at 2:15 and I shot a couple pictures of him.

We went home and a couple hours later I started getting ready to shoot a wedding the same day. Needless to say I drank too much coffee and ended the day with a cold beer! The wedding was a blast! Amber, the bride, has been a friend of mine for a long time. We were in Awanas together when we were younger. Beau, the groom, is from North Dakota and is a true cowboy (in my opinion). He has a cattle ranch and while he was gone getting married they were having calfs. They wedding was in the small town of Parkfield. It was a great day!

Amazing week!

So I have just gotten back for being down south for the week. It was an amazing week!
Here is a break down what I did:

I drove to San Diego Sunday night where I had the privilege to be apart my friends Sarah & Brendan's birth of their second child. I have wanted to become a duola for some time and this experience solidified my desire to do so! Sarah and Bredan did an amazing job and what an honor it was to be there. At 11.07 Monday afternoon, Noemi Brielle graced us with her presence. Here are a couple of photos minutes after she was born!

I will post more photos later on my website.

SO after Noemi was born, I spent some time with my sobrinos (niece and nephew) and my friend/sister in law, Tara. It was a beautiful San Diego day so the kids played in the pool, and I got a little burnt.

Then, there was no way I could drive all the way to San Diego and not go and see my kids at DOFO, so that is what I did next. Dawn, a friend of mine and former volunteer of DOFO, drove with me and we spent the next day at DOFO.

And now I am back in Paso Robles, getting ready for my sister in law, Amy, to have a baby any day now, and I am shooting a friend's wedding this weekend.

Chris is 30, subbing, marathon and life

Okay I haven't written in a long time, too long. I have been subbing a good amount which means early mornings and trying to dress a little more grown-up. The second thing has been a little more difficult, one day I will grow up...maybe.

Besides subbing, Chris turned 30! I surprised him with a little party. It was super fun and he had no clue. It was very hard keeping my mouth shut but I am proud to say I did.

A friend took more photos than I did so when I get them I will post more.

Okay so I've also started training for a marathon. My sister-in-law, Tara, planted the idea in my head and now we are in training. Yesterday, I ran 7 miles. I seriously think I have lost it! Being up in the states again has been difficult for me so I think running will be good. We are doing a half marathon the end of March and the full thing the end of May...what am I doing!!!

Next, my sewing...I have been sewing just not as much. I made placemats, napkins and an apron for my soon to be sister-in-law Sarah's bridal shower.

Also a diaper cake and hooter hider (forgot to take a picture of this one) for another sister-in-law, Amy's baby shower.

So needless to say I have been a little busy. Today is a new day. I plan to cook, clean, drink coffee and sew today.
