So this past weekend we went to DOFO for a QuinceaƱera, a girl's celebration of her 15th birthday. It was super fun seeing all the kids and staff we miss so much. Here are some photos of the party!
Before the church service Her last doll The huge yummy looking cake Center pieces for the tables The birthday girl with her friends Chris and I with her
Okay I think everyone knows my love for both of these but last weekend it was confirmed even more. Here is what I found: Beautiful fabric! Since moving back to Paso Chris and I have been spending our Saturday mornings going to garage sales to furnish our home and find cool stuff. He is actually the one that goes online to find out where they are and drags me out of bed to go. So when I found all this fabric I was happy I got up. Now I have to decide what to make out of it!
So I passed my CBEST!!!! I got fingerprinted yesterday and am waiting for my transcript from UCSC to come and then I will go put my name on the sub list for Paso and San Miguel. I still can't believe I am going to be a substitute teacher...crazy huh!
Now that Christmas is over I am taking a little break. We are up in Tahoe till New Years with some friends and I didn't bring the sewing machine. The crochet hook and plastic bags did come up with me though. Thanks to all that bought homemade gifts from me this holiday season. Since I haven't posted since the 14th here are somethings I have been up to:
Coffee Sleeves galore...here are 3 of my favorites!
Placemat and Napkin set
Shoulder Bag
Along with the sewing I also did some family portraits for some friends:
The Cody Family
The Indie Family
And our family...with a tripod and self timer we captured this shot:
For Christmas day we went down to see our kids at Door of Faith Orphanage. It was amazing to see them all. We miss them sooo much.
Hope all had a great Christmas and a peaceful new year to come!
What is a hooter hider? A cool name for a nursing cover! These are hard to photograph alone so I asked a friend to model one since she just gave birth to a baby in November. So thank you Marie! If you know someone that is pregnant and want a cool gift to give them check these out! I have a couple already made but usually make them according to the color/theme the family has chosen. They come with 2 matching burp cloths. Here they are:
Am I reading the calendar right? 2 weeks till Christmas, wow it is almost here! I have been sewing and crocheting like crazy and I love it! I have just finished 11 crayon rolls, a new coffee sleeve (inspired by my sister-in-law, Tara) and a small clutch bag. I decided it was a good time to take a break post something and then get back to work! So here they are:
So I guess I did not understand or really have had to understand how much work goes into a website. I am a little overwhelmed. I am trying to come up with a statement that says what I am about and what I am going to offer. Oh well, I am done for the night, on to crocheting and TV.
I try and be creative in all avenues of my life. I spend my time sewing, crocheting, photographing life, cooking and baking vegan! Though I don't always understand what is going on in my life I do try and find joy and peace in everything. And I like cheesy movies (HMS 1,2 &3 to start!) so that always helps.
